Carmelitas Hotel in Bucerias

As we traveled down the Mexican West Coast to Puerto Vallarta we found Bucerias. There we had a clean quite room in Carmelita's Hotel for which I would like to give a well deserved plug. It is one of the best value hotels we found. It is well located a few short miles from Puerto Vallarta, 2 blocks from the beach, close to the centro market, close to many of the better restaurants and close to shopping. During the evening we often walked to the centro market, central plaza. Bucerias is a resort type of village, with a few nice hotels. Carmelitas rates are the best in town. Also close by is a roof top restaurant "The Red Apple" where we watched the dolphins play in the bay. Bucerias is only 15 or 20 minutes North of Puerto Vallarta and still has many of the qualities that once made PV a favorite getaway. On three occasions we have seen whales blowing water high into the sky. Once they were jumping right out of the water. The splashes were enormous. I wish I had my camera that day. Bucerias has much to offer, we were surprised.

Carmelita's Hotel is where we stay while in Bucerias. It is our home away from home and we intend to visit again. It is very comfortable and the staff go out of their way to accommodate us. Carmelita likes to decorate for any/all occasions and this time it is for Valentines. A view from the nearby rooftop restaurant. The whales were splashing just to right of the palm. And a Sunset from the same rooftop. The Christmas carnival which lasted till the 23 or 24 of Jan. An interesting event with fun for every one. Pedro sat under this beautiful tree it is a Cochlospermum vitifolium (Common Name: poro-poro). More brilliant flowers every where.
